Born in 1985, Ayşecan Hizmet graduated from Akdeniz University, Faculty of Fine Arts. Since 2009, she has been working on upcycling through art; she writes and conducts EU supported national and international recycling projects, designs and lectures at workshops and exhibitions, and plays a pioneering role in this field. The artist, who focuses on the theme of city and technology in her works, is known as an "Environmentalist Painter" as she combines the increasingly concretised cities, disappearing greens and the extraordinary speed of technology. The artist, who uses various waste materials such as plastic, paper, scrap buttons, mainly electronic wastes, which have become the most important problem of the world, as raw materials in her works, uses mixed painting techniques such as acrylic paint and oil paint on canvas. Transforming waste into art with a fascinating harmony and fiction unique to herself, Hizmet draws the audience into the mysterious depths of this journey. Completed in 2022, Ayşecan Hizmet describes the accelerating cycle of today's world with technology in her work titled "'Remainings; "As technology develops, do we develop and grow together with it, or do both sides consume each other? How will this process transform us over time? This cycle, which represents our world, makes us reflect on whether the story should continue or whether the story should evolve forwards"
